I was just 23 when I began making 6 figures as a business owner. There was absolutely nothing wrong with that in itself. But much of my arrogance, value and sense of ‘success’ stemmed from it- making me guilty of the same mentality.
Up until 8 months ago, I’d been working a secular job since the age of 17. My husband and I didn’t know what my new “walk of life” would look like but we knew it was something on both our hearts.
Truthfully, I underestimated the wonder of the transitional period I currently find myself in. A very adventurous, eager, frontier, excited type of wonder.
But for whatever reason, we’ve collectively decided that a woman glitters a little less when her “title” is homemaker. I, too, am guilty of having given a disappointed smirk & I have now found myself on the other end of that same response.
“What do you do all day?”
“Oh, I’m too independent to ever do that”
“So you’re just going to have kids & that’s it?”
I am humbly inspired by the infamous Proverbs 31 woman. A wife of noble character, who’s husband fully trusted her, never spiteful, she treated him generously. A bargain shopper, a seamstress, one who rose early in the morning to feed her family and manage her house. An entrepreneur who’s profits purchased land & planted gardens. Helper of the needy. Clothed with strength and dignity, she spoke with wisdom. Her children called her blessed and her husband praised her.

but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.”
Excuse my language but the homemaker lived out as God would have her, is a badass. Many titles, professions & talents under her belt, not condensed down to something so simple. I have a newfound deep respect for the women who embody true femininity and am encouraged by their limitless diligence.
“This is where we must focus our eyes on the eternal. The accomplishments this world would praise are temporal. The role the Lord had called us to, if lived out according to His way, produces eternal rewards. So desiring to be godly homemakers who love caring for our homes and families should be a top priority of ours. We need to look to the Lord for our strength and encouragement and the attitude by which we carry out these responsibilities, will carry over into our children”.
