Have you stayed in a Wigwam lately?

The Wigwam Motel, Holbrook Arizona

Questionable neighborhood & slanted walled tipis?!

Count us in 😃😂

We’d been driving all day from Texas and arrived into the Wigwam Motel Village after dark. Barely.

There’s a long stretch between Santa Fe, New Mexico and Holbrook, Arizona which we did NOT expect to find so empty.

Typically, there’s gas stations all along the highway, right? 😅

Well, we were literally living on a prayer, hoping good ol’ #patrickhenrythetruck wouldn’t die out on us before making it to a gas station.

Soon after filling up, we pulled into the Wigwam property and noticed it seemed like a sketch area with blue&red lights flashing just across from our tipi & persons walking on the road mumbling to themselves.🙂

It’s fine right?

The staff assured us they’d never had a problem before so we went for it.

It was late, we were exhausted and just needed someplace to sleep for a few hours.

I thought this was the coziest, Native American “ambianced” little tipi I’d ever seen. My husband on the other hand slept lightly. 😂

The slanted walls in the shower and teeny room space made this experience all the more interesting.

Morning came and we got to see the vintage cars parked all over the property. Overall, this was a good stay.

So, if you’re ever on the Western route of 66, and need somewhere to snooze (and don’t mind the sketchiness) this isn’t so bad.
