Long before we decided to grow our family,
The Lord had been placing “legacy” & a fervent passion for rousing fierce Kingdom people on my heart.
Now that I am pregnant, I realize He was doing so that we may be intentional about what we instill in our children.
What legacy can Sam & I leave that will long outlive the dust we will someday return to?
Well, while he was born to redeemed parents, I am the “first of 1,000 generations” which means having to decide what we want to pass on & what we don’t.
I hope to teach them my native tongue,
Their father’s family history,
My vibrant culture.
We want them to experience the adventure of chasing a sunset in a foreign place,
To be humbled by the kindness of a stranger,
To feel the joy of dancing,
To love the freedom of their country.
But more than anything,
we long to impart spiritual victory.
What is greater than royal prince hood,
Eternal fellowship with the Most High God & Righteousness through the blood of our King?
The bondage,
The shame,
The patterns of destruction,
The abuse,
They all end with me.
This is the birth of a new bloodline.
One of deliberate love,
Ongoing forgiveness,
Incredible joy,
Prayerful knees,
Fearlessness,
Praiseful hands,
Humble hearts,
Resilient minds,
Lovers of God,
Protectors of the weak,
Bold leaders,
More than conquerors,
Mighty in spirit,
Victors.
Like “arrows in the hands of a warrior”,
We desire for them to go further,
To conquer more than my husband and I have.
May our lineage make hell nervous,
May the enemy tremble when he hears our children pray,
When they prophesy, worship & fight in the spirit.
May they give Heaven a reason to celebrate,
May they bring praise to God’s feet.
May the Lord be their heritage and they His.
“Their children will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed.”
Psalm 112:2 NIV
